As summer dawns in the Omaha Metro, promotions are heating up at Werner Park as the Storm Chasers prepare for the second half of their 2017 campaign at Werner Park. Among the many sensational events planned at Werner Park are exhilarating post-game fireworks extravaganzas, familiar celebrity appearances, fan-tastic giveaways and exciting theme games. The "Biggest Fireworks in the Omaha Metro" returns with an even larger bang for First National Bank Independence Fireworks Weekend on July 2 and July 3. For the first time at Werner Park, large eight-inch shells will blast off as part of the spectacle, the largest shells to be used by any public fireworks show in the Omaha Metro this year.<o:p>

Many other promotions are on tap for the second half, including special appearances from superheros, princesses and celebrities, in addition to giveaways, including two more bobblehead giveaways, musical performances and theme games, while Werner Park's weekly promotions continue on throughout the summer.  Special Appearances
Throughout the season, fans will have a chance to interact with some of their favorite characters from movies and television. Mr. Belding from the 90's television show "Saved by the Bell" is scheduled to be at Werner Park as part of 90's Night on July 15 along with live pre-game music. Several superheroes are set to fly into Werner Park on June 24 as well for Superhero Night presented by ParentSavvy.com, with Wonder Woman, Spiderman, Captain America and Iron Man slated to be roaming the concourse that evening. Princesses Belle, Cinderella, Ariel and Moana are expected to be at Werner Park for Daddy Daughter Princess Night presented by ParentSavvy.com on July 14. In addition, The Amazing Christopher is anticipated to be at Werner Park for Mommy & Minion Night presented by Shadow Lake Towne Center on August 5.

 Bobblehead Giveaways
Bobblehead gurus will be thrilled to hear there are two more bobblehead giveaways on the 2017 home slate, featuring a pair of Royals fan favorites. The Alex Gordon Superhero Bobblehead thanks to ParentSavvy.com is scheduled to be given out to the first 1,500 fans on June 24 for Superhero Night, while the first 1,500 fans admitted to Werner Park on July 1 will receive a Whit Merrifield Bobblehead presented by Pinnacle Bank.

 Non-Bobblehead Giveaways
Other giveaways on the docket in 2017 include Drawstring Backpacks to the first 1,000 fans on Monday, July 31 thanks to Huber Chevrolet, and Fidget Spinners for the first 1,000 fans courtesy of SPIN! Pizza on August 3. In addition the first 1,500 fans on Saturday, September 2 will receive a Storm Chasers Team Photo presented by Nebraska Spine & Pain Center, followed by the Night of 1,000 Giveaways on Sunday, September 3.

 Specialty Jerseys
Storm Chasers players and coaches will also be wearing specialty jerseys for several games this summer, which will include Independence Jerseys to be sold during the game on July 3. The squad will also wear special ugly Christmas sweater jerseys for Christmas in July presented by Mannheim Steamroller on July 29, as well as outdoors-themed jerseys presented by National Wild Turkey Federation on Outdoors Night (August 18).

 Musical Acts
Musical performances are on the schedule, including a pair of post-game concerts set to take the stage in August, with country artist Steve Moakler performing on August 11 thanks to Boot Barn and U-Pull-It. The next evening, American Idol semi-finalist Colton Dixon is set to perform at Werner Park for Faith and Family Night presented by Boys Town and Home Instead Senior Care following the Storm Chasers' contest on August 12. Omaha Street Percussion is set to return to Werner Park as well on September 2.

 Theme Games
Along with the aforementioned Superhero Night (June 24), 90's Night (July 15), and Daddy Daughter Princess Night (August 12) are several additional theme games planned at Werner Park, including Pirates Day (June 25), Ag Night (July 19), Christmas in July (July 29), First Responders Night (July 30), Library Night presented by UnitedHealthCare (July 30 & 31), Harry Potter Night (August 4), Military Appreciation Day (August 6) and Outdoors Night (August 18). In addition, Mommy Minion Night returns to Werner Park on August 5, with The Amazing Christopher scheduled to appear that evening. Special ticket packages are still available for Daddy Daughter Princess Night and Mommy & Minion Night, and can be viewed online at www.omahastormchasers.com/themenights.

 Weekly Promotions
The Storm Chasers will continue to offer their popular weekly promotions through the second half of the season, including Hy-Vee Friday Fireworks, Thirsty Thursday, Wiener Wednesday with RTG Medical Barkin the Park on Wednesday nights, Tallboy Tuesday for Tuesday night dates, and U.S. Bank Family FUNday. The second half of the Storm Chasers' home slate at Werner Park begins on Thursday, June 22 with a four-game homestand against the Memphis Redbirds. First pitch for that evening is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT.
