ASHEVILLE-- The Asheville Tourists picked up another win on Wednesday night, this time knocking off the Hickory Crawdads by a final score of 8-4. Asheville received a quality start from Antonio Santos and contributions from all nine offensive players.
The scoring began in the bottom of the second. Jacob Bosiokovic lined a two-run triple to centerfield that plated Tyler Nevin and Joel Diaz. After Hickory scored an unearned run in the top of the third, the Tourists countered with three in the bottom of the third. All three runs scored on an errant throw on a Bobby Wernes sacrifice bunt. Both runners aboard plus Wernes raced around the bases to score.

Alex Kowalczyk clubbed a solo Home Run in the fourth; part of a three run inning for the visitors. It was the only trouble Santos faced all game. Asheville made it 6-4 in the bottom of the fourth on a Manny Melendez RBI single; one of his game-high three hits.
The score remained 6-4 until Asheville plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth. Santos tossed a season best seven innings and earned his second win in his last two starts. Heath Holder and Reid Humphreys combined to pitch the final two innings and neither allowed a base-runner.
Asheville is 5-1 over their last six contests and will look to keep the wins coming with game two of the series scheduled for 7:05pm Thursday night.
