With great disappointment, we inform you that the Visalia Rawhide’s 2020 season has officially been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier today, Major League Baseball informed Minor League Baseball that it will not be providing its Minor League affiliates with players for the 2020 season. As such, there will not be a 2020 Minor League campaign. While this is a sad event, the safety of our fans, community, players, and staff are of utmost importance.

On behalf of the entire Rawhide organization, we promise to begin work immediately to provide you with an exciting 2021 season. We are looking forward to more entertainment, more promotions and more fun, including a yearlong celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Minor League Baseball in Visalia! We’ll honor our front-line heroes, recognize our essential workers and heal together – all while taking in our national pastime.

In the meantime, we’ll continue to focus on other ways we can provide fun and entertainment at Rawhide Ballpark. In collaboration with the Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency, we have been able to provide venues for small gatherings in for Father’s Day, family graduation pictures, batting practice and birthday parties. As the health guidelines change, we hope to provide other ways to share our facility, and our home, with you.

While my family and I could not have been more excited for our first season as owners of the Rawhide, we still could not feel more fortunate and grateful to be a part of your community here in Visalia and Tulare County. You all could not have been more warm and welcoming, and because of that, we know that thanks to you, we will get through 2020 together. We have been so fortunate to have your support through these last few months, and we look forward to decades of success ahead knowing we’ll have each other’s backs.

We will miss baseball at Rawhide Ballpark this summer and everything that makes the ballpark experience great. But more than anything, we’ll simply miss you, our fans the most. Thank you for all your support and let’s all be safe and healthy together.

Go Rawhide,

Sam Sigal
