Rattlers & Bees Suspended in the Eighth with score tied 2-2

GRAND CHUTE, WI - Wednesday's game between the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and Burlington Bees at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium was suspended with the score tied 2-2 after 7-1/2 innings. The game will resume on Thursday night at 5:35pm.
 
Darren Seferina doubled to start the Wisconsin half of the first inning. Zach Clark moved Seferina to third with a deep flyout to right. Tristen Lutz drove in Seferina with a sacrifice fly to right and the Rattlers had a 1-0 lead.

Wisconsin added to their lead in the bottom of the sixth. Seferina singled and took second on an error. Clark drove in Seferina with a single to right and the Rattlers had a 2-0 lead.

Rattlers starting pitcher Bowden Francis was cruising through six innings and got the first out in the top of the seventh inning, before walking Tim Millard on a 3-2 pitch. Keinner Piña was next and he singled off Francis's leg. Julio Garcia followed with a line drive single to right to load the bases.

Alexis Olmeda, who had struck out in his first two at bats of the night against Francis, stepped in and drove a double to the wall in left-center to score two runs and tie the game.

Robbie Hitt took over for Francis and got out of the inning with the score still tied.

The rain started pelting down in the top of the eighth inning and play was halted right after the final out of the frame was recorded

The game will restart with Rattlers coming to the plate in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Thursday's regularly scheduled game will be a nine-inning game and it will not start before 7:05pm. The stadium will open at 5:00pm for the Jimmy Nelson Bobblehead giveaway. The first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a bobblehead of Nelson, a former Timber Rattler and a current Milwaukee Brewer Jimmy Nelson courtesy of U.S. Cellular.


Fans of legal drinking age may enjoy 12-ounce craft beers for $2. Cher-Make brats are also just $2 and they are available for everyone. Beers from Fox River Brewing Company, Badger Club Amber, and many, many more will be available thanks to 95.3 & 99.1 The Score. 

Appleton Family Ice Center has given the Timber Rattlers 5,000 free admission ice skating passes and the team will be handing them out to the fans as they enter the stadium.

Thursday also features the next installment of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers concert series. Jacob Fannin will be performing in the Fox Communities Credit Union Fox Club for 90 minutes beginning at the conclusion of the seventh inning.

If you can't make it out to the ballpark, there are many ways to catch the action. The radio broadcast is on AM1280, WNAM starting with the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino Pregame Show at 5:15pm. There will be a brief postgame show at the conclusion of the suspended game. Then, the pregame show for the regularly scheduled game will start at 6:45pm.
