Rattlers Return Home and Beat Clinton 4-1

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers played well in their second half home opener and picked up a 4-1 victory over the Clinton LumberKings Thursday night at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. The game was the first home game for the Rattlers since June 11.
Clinton (44-34 overall, 5-3 second half) took the lead with a solo home run by Johnny Adams in the top of the second inning. That was the only run allowed by Wisconsin starting pitcher Nelson Hernández. The right-hander allowed four hits, walked none, and struck out five over seven innings.

Wisconsin (34-43, 3-5) went in front in the bottom of the second. KJ Harrison started the inning with a double. Gilbert Lara would drive in Harrison with another double. Rob Henry put the Rattlers in the lead with a two-out, RBI single to score Lara.

Darren Seferina forced in a run when he drew a bases-loaded walk in the fourth. Seferina added one more insurance run for Wisconsin with an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh.

Milwaukee Brewers infielder Tyler Saladino made his first of three rehabilitation appearances with the Timber Rattlers on Thursday night. He was 0-for-2 at the plate with a walk.

ández. Rodrigo Benoit allowed a hit and a walk in the ninth, but struck out three to close out the Wisconsin win and earn his eighth save of the season.

Game two of the series is scheduled for Friday night. Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Zach Davies will make a rehabilitation start for the Timber Rattlers. Clinton has named Scott Booches (2-1, 2.57) as their starter. Game time is 7:05pm.
Friday is the final Peanut-Free Night at the ballpark of the season and it will be a magical night. Neuroscience Group presents Harry Potter Night with characters from the movies, butter beer, and more fun from the books and movies. Plus, the first 1,000 fans to attend the game will receive a pair of Harry Potter-themed Timber Rattlers socks. Neuroscience Group also is bringing Strike Out Stroke Night to the stadium with ways to recognize the signs of and prevent strokes. After the game there will be a fireworks display courtesy of FOX 11 and after the fireworks children 14 and under may participate in Kids Run the Bases presented by Menasha Corporation. This night is also an Arty's Old Fashioned Friday presented by WIXX with Arty's Old Fashion drinks available for $3.
