Hawks Outslug AquaSox in Series Opening Win

Boise, ID - Steven Linkous had two hits and two RBI, and Ryan Luna tossed 7 2/3 innings as the Boise Hawks defeated the Everett AquaSox 11-8 on Friday.

Boise, ID - Steven Linkous had two hits and two RBI, and Ryan Luna tossed 7 2/3 innings as the Boise Hawks defeated the Everett AquaSox 11-8 on Friday.

Luna (2-3) picked up the win after he struck out four and walked two while allowing all eight AquaSox runs (six earned) and eight hits.
Boise took the lead in the first when it scored three runs, including a double by Bret Boswell that scored Linkous.
The Hawks later added three runs in the second and five in the fourth. In the second, Cole Anderson drove in two runs and Linkous drove in one, while Linkous hit an RBI double and then scored on a single by Sean Bouchard in the fourth.
The AquaSox came roaring back and scored six runs in a 10-batter top of the fifth inning that was capped on a three-run double by Eugene Helder.
AquaSox starter, Jose Santiago (1-4) went 1 1/3 innings, allowing six runs and two hits while walking five in the Northwest League game. Moises Ceja pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings for his third save of the season.
AquaSox reliever Ted Hammond restored order after the fourth inning allowing just one hit in 3 2/3 scoreless innings.
For the AquaSox, Louis Boyd doubled and singled, driving home two runs.
Despite the loss, Everett is 5-1 against Boise this season.
