BROOKLYN- The Asheville Tourists dropped a pair of contests to the Brooklyn Cyclones on Saturday. The Tourists fell in Game One, 6-2, then came up short in the nightcap, 3-1. Asheville did not hold a lead at any point during the two games.

The first contest featured a hot start by the Cyclones off Asheville’s starting pitcher Carlos Calderon. Brooklyn plated six runs in the first three innings, all off Calderon. Railin Perez and Ian Foggo pitched the last three innings and kept the home team from adding on any runs.

Offensively, the Tourists scored one in the sixth on a passed ball and one in the seventh on back-to-back doubles by Pascanel Ferreras and Garret Guillemette.

Game Two was a scoreless pitcher’s duel until Brooklyn belted a three-run Home Run in the bottom of the fourth inning. It was the Cyclone’s lone scoring play of the game. Trey Dombroski and Alejandro Torres combined to pitch the whole way.

Jackson Loftin provided Asheville’s lone run of the game with a solo Homer in the top of the seventh. In the two losses, the Tourists went 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position and left 13 men on base.

Asheville can salvage a series split with a win in Sunday’s series finale. The first pitch is scheduled for 2:00pm ET.
