The Birmingham Barons fell to the Biloxi Shuckers by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday, September 6th. In the Game 2 loss, the Barons collected seven hits and used a total of four pitchers. In the contest two Barons emerged, the most prolific in Terrell Tatum from the plate and LHP Garrett Crochet from the mound.

From the plate, Tatum finished his night 3-4 with a run and his 19th RBI of the season. Alsander Womack was the lone Baron to also knock in a run as he finished with two RBI. Womack ended his night 1-4 from the plate with a double, his 12th of the year. Other Barons with a hit in the contest were Edgar Quero, Tim Elko and Yeolqui Cespedes.

From the mound, starting LHP Ky Bush managed 4.2 innings pitched with six hits, four earned runs, five walks, one home run and one strikeout. The left-hander did give up four runs, however, the offense had already helped him out with four in the bottom of the second. Bush almost made it through the fifth, but RHP Tristan Stivors was the man to get them out of the inning.

Stivors pitched 1.1 innings and tossed zeroes across the board. The right-hander then handed over the mound to Crochet, who kicked off his MLB Rehab Assignment with the Barons in the contest. Crochet was dynamic at the bump as he finished his lone inning of work with zero hits, zero runs and two strikeouts in a three-up three-down effort.

After the big 6 '6’’ lefty the Barons opted for the 5 '10'’ lefty to close out the game in LHP Jonah Scolaro. Scolaro capped off the game with his 2.0 IP and collected his second loss of the season. The Florida State University alum finished with three hits, two earned runs and one walk.

Birmingham now sits 0-2 against Biloxi in their last home series of the 2023 season. The Barons turn the series around in Game 3 on Thursday, September 7th.
