Overbeck, Metro PCS Makes One Lucky Fan A Winner

April 15, 2010

CLEARWATER, Fla. - With a swing of the bat in the fifth inning of last Tuesday's game, Debbie Valentin won $125 in the Metro PCS Home Run For The Money contest. Valentin, from Pinellas Park, was the first winner of the season in the contest that will continue throughout the 2010 campaign.

Fans can sign up for free at the Threshers Table located behind homeplate on the concourse. The drawing will take place as the game begins and that lucky fan will be a winner if a Thresher hits a homerun in the fifth inning. Should no homerun occur, the pot will rollover and increase by $25 each game. The prize starts at $50.

Last Tuesday in the bottom of the fifth with the Threshers trailing the Yankees 3-1, third baseman Cody Overbeck hit a solo homer to make Valentin a winner. It would be the final run of the game however, as Clearwater fell 3-2.

You could be a Metro PCS winner this Friday or Saturday when the Threshers host the Lakeland Flying Tigers. Friday night's contest starts at 7 p.m. and first pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
