ZEBULON - Former Mudcats outfielder Dillon Thomas made his Major League Baseball debut with the Seattle Mariners on June 9 versus the Tigers in Detroit. Thomas played briefly for the Mudcats during the 2018 season and was most recently with Triple-A Tacoma in the Seattle system before the promotion.

Thomas, 28, started in Seattle's June 9th game for the Mariners and went 1-for-5 with his lone hit being a single in the eleventh that drove in two of five overall runs in the eventual game deciding inning. Thomas also made a highlight reel jumping catch while playing in right field for Seattle earlier in the game.

Thomas made his debut after spending 10 years in the Minors across the Colorado Rockies, Milwaukee Brewers and Seattle farm systems. Over those 10 seasons, Thomas played for 10 different MiLB teams and in 670 Minor League games before getting his call to the Show.

Thomas signed with the Brewers as a free agent on August 21, 2018 and was first assigned to Carolina that same day. He went on to play in 13 games for the Mudcats in 2018 and slashed an impressive .293/.464/.341 while also posting an .806 OPS. Thomas also drove in five runs, totaled two doubles and walked 11 times with the Mudcats from August 21, 2018 through September 3, 2018. He continued his time in the Brewers system with Double-A Biloxi the following season in 2019.

Thomas is the sixth former Mudcats player to reach the big leagues this season. He is also the sixth player from the 2018 Mudcats to reach the Majors.

Earlier this season, 2017 Mudcats outfielder Corey Ray debuted with the Brewers in his hometown of Chicago on April 24 versus the Cubs. Mario Feliciano, the 2019 Carolina League MVP, then made his MLB debut on May 1 where he walked and scored the game’s winning run versus the Los Angeles Dodgers at American Family Field. Alec Bettinger from the 2018 Mudcats made his MLB debut with the Brewers on May 2 and 2019 Mudcats pitcher Anthony Bender debuted with the Miami Marlins on May 6. Former 2017 Mudcats outfielder Troy Stokes Jr. then made his MLB on May 9.
