Mudcats Announce Front Office Promotions & Additions

The Mudcats are excited to announce several front office promotions as well as the addition of two new front office hires ahead of the 2023 season

ZEBULON, N.C. - The Carolina Mudcats, the Class-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, are excited to announce today several front office promotions as well as the addition of two new front office hires ahead of the 2023 season at Five County Stadium in Zebulon. Those receiving promotions include John Packer

ZEBULON, N.C. - The Carolina Mudcats, the Class-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, are excited to announce today several front office promotions as well as the addition of two new front office hires ahead of the 2023 season at Five County Stadium in Zebulon.

Those receiving promotions include John Packer to Director of Stadium Grounds, Logan Clark and Justin Bose to Sr. Coordinator of Stadium Operations, Megan Bloyd to Manager of Group Tickets & Premium Sales, Jason Leone to Manager of Box Office Operations & Season Tickets, and Greg Young to Sr. Director of Marketing and Broadcast Media.

The team is also thrilled to announce the hiring of two new front office members with Samantha Micha joining the team as Marketing and Promotions Coordinator, and Jermaine Nix hired as the new Community Relations and Mascot Associate.

The Mudcats additionally added Nathan Cantrell to the club’s front office as an Associate - Ticket and Group Sales during the 2022 season.

“We have a tremendous front office staff here in Zebulon,” said General Manager David Lawrence. “The talent here emanates across all departments, and both (General Manager) Eric Gardner and I are proud to work alongside so many outstanding people. Our front office family interacts with all of our fans, ticket holders and partners year-round and are the keys to the continued growth and success of the Carolina Mudcats.”

John Packer
Director of Grounds

A winner of the 2016 Carolina League Sports Turf Manager of the Year award, John Packer is entering his 21st season with the Mudcats and his 29th overall in professional baseball. He previously worked with the South Atlantic League's Greensboro Bats from 1994 through 1995 and with the Sally League’s Augusta GreenJackets from 1996 through 2001. Packer was also named the 1996 South Atlantic League Groundskeeper of the Year while in his first season with the GreenJackets. Born in Waterbury, Conn., Packer is a former Army Paratrooper, serving with the 82nd Airborne, and first began working for the Mudcats in 2002. He was previously Carolina’s Manager – Grounds, as recently as the 2021 season.

Logan Clark
Sr. Coordinator – Stadium Operations

Logan Clark, a 2021 graduate of East Carolina University, is entering his seventh overall season with the Mudcats, and his fourth straight in the stadium operations department. Clark originally got his start with the Mudcats as a bat boy from 2016 through 2018. The Bel Air, MD native then worked as a student manager for the East Carolina University baseball team in 2019 and 2020, before returning to the Mudcats as an intern in 2019 and in a full-time capacity in 2021 as a stadium operations coordinator. Clark additionally worked on the operations crew with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2018.

Justin Bose
Sr. Coordinator – Stadium Operations

Justin Bose is a native of Waxhaw, N.C. and is entering his third season in Zebulon with the Mudcats. A 2021 graduate of NC State University, Bose previously interned with the Coastal Plain League’s Wilson Tobs in 2020 before becoming an intern with the Mudcats in 2021. He then joined the stadium operations staff in a full-time capacity shortly after the start of the 2021 season. Bose was previously the Mudcats’ Coordinator - Stadium Operations prior to the promotion.

Megan Bloyd
Manager – Group Tickets & Premium Sales

Megan Bloyd is entering her second full season with the Mudcats after originally joining the team ahead of the 2022 season. A 2016 graduate of Neumann University in Aston, Pa., Bloyd came to Mudcats from the Staten Island Yankees where she was a group sales associate from 2018 through 2020. Originally from Flemington, N.J., Bloyd started as Carolina’s Senior Associate - Business Development in 2021.

Jason Leone
Manager - Box Office Operations & Season Tickets

Jason Leone joined the Mudcats in 2019 and is entering his third season in Zebulon. A native of Hamden, Conn. and graduate of the University of New Haven in West Haven, Conn., Leone has previously worked for the South Atlantic League’s Hickory Crawdads, PNC Arena, and Durham Bulls. He was previously Carolina’s Coordinator - Box Office, as recently as the 2021 season.

Sami Micha
Coordinator - Marketing and Promotions

Samantha (Sami) Micha originally spent the 2022 season as a part-time member of the Mudcats’ gameday staff and is now entering her first season in a full-time role as Coordinator - Marketing and Promotions. Micha is originally from Dayton, Ohio and is a 2019 graduate of Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, N.H.

Jermaine Nix
Community Relations and Mascot Associate

Jermaine Nix is entering his first season as Carolina’s new Community Relations and Mascot Associate. The 2023 season will be his first as a full-time member of the Mudcats’ front office, but his second overall after originally working as a member of Carolina’s gameday staff in 2022. A native of Traverse City, Mich., Nix spent the summer of 2021 working as a summer camp director at the Clayton, N.C. Community Center.

Nathan Cantrell
Associate - Ticket and Group Sales

Nathan Cantrell enters his second season with the Mudcats after originally joining the team in late June of 2021. Before joining the Mudcats, Cantrell worked as a graduate assistant while earning his MBA at Crown College in Minnesota from 2020 through 2022. A native of Columbus, N.C., Cantrell also worked as an operations intern with the Coastal Plain League’s Forest City Owls in 2017.

Greg Young
Sr. Director - Marketing and Broadcast Media

Greg Young is entering his eighth season as the play-by-play voice of Mudcats, and his third as marketing director. A native of Hidden Valley Lake, Calif., Young first began his professional baseball career in 2007 as a broadcast intern with the California League’s Modesto Nuts. He transitioned into the lead broadcast role in Modesto in 2008 and remained in that same role through 2011. Before joining the Mudcats in 2015, Young spent the 2014 season as a senior broadcast assistant with the Southern League’s Tennessee Smokies.

The Mudcats recently announced their 2023 regular-season schedule beginning on Friday, April 7 with the season opener in Fayetteville against the Woodpeckers. The first home game of the 2023 schedule is set for Tuesday, April 11 against the Salem Red Sox at Five County Stadium.
