The Chattanooga Lookouts rolled to an 11-3 victory over the Tennessee Smokies. Lookouts first baseman Brent Rooker paved the way for the win with three hits and four RBIs.
Along with a bombastic offensive performance the Lookouts also received a fine pitching performance by Randy LeBlanc. LeBlanc only allowed one run in six innings while striking out four batters. The righty has now given up one run or fewer in four of his eight starts this season. His 2.14 ERA ranks third in the Southern League.
The game began quietly with four straight scoreless innings, but the Lookouts offense woke up in the bottom of the fifth by posting four runs. The team proceeded to score a run in the sixth, five in the seventh and one in the eighth.
Releivers Cody Stashak and Casey Crosby combined to only allow one earned run over three innings in releif.
Tomorrow, the Lookouts will try and capture their fourth win of a series for a fourth time this season. RHP Anthony Marzi will look to get his first win as a Lookout against Michael Rucker.
