The El Paso Chihuahuas had 14 hits in an 8-1 win over the Sacramento River Cats Saturday night. With the Salt Lake Bees' loss to Fresno Saturday, the Chihuahuas take sole possession of first place in the Southern Division, with two games left in the season.
Alongside 14 hits, the Chihuahuas had four stolen bases in the contest. Rafael Ortega stole a pair and now has 26 total on the season, which ties him for most in the Pacific Coast League. Chase d'Arnaud and Nick Buss also each had a steal. Buss went 2-for-4 with two RBI and is now hitting .353, best in the Pacific Coast League, seven points ahead of Colorado Springs' Iván De Jesús Jr.
El Paso is now even with Sacramento at 7-7 on the season. The Chihuahuas have won seven of their last eight games.
