The El Paso Chihuahuas and Fresno Grizzlies combined to hit seven home runs in Fresno's 9-5 win Saturday night. The total tied a Southwest University Park regular season record for combined homers. The only game in which eight home runs were hit came on March 31, 2016 when the San Diego Padres visited El Paso for an exhibition against the Chihuahuas.

The Grizzlies hit six of the seven homers to tie the record for single-game home runs at Southwest University Park. The other six home run game was also produced by Fresno, when the Grizzlies hit six balls over the fence during a day game on May 19, 2015.
The Chihuahuas trailed 9-0 at the seventh inning stretch but crept back into the game with a five-run, nine-batter bottom of the seventh. Jabari Blash homered in the rally, his ninth Chihuahuas home run this season and his fourth in his last five games. Fresno made four errors in the bottom of the seventh after not making more than three in a game this season.
The Chihuahuas and Grizzlies have split the first two games of the series and have identical win/loss records. Nick Buss went 2-for-4 in the loss, moving his average to .366.
