The El Paso Chihuahuas lost to the Fresno Grizzlies 8-4 Thursday, missing an opportunity to sweep a series for the third time this year. The Chihuahuas previously swept series at home against Tacoma and Salt Lake.

El Paso hit four doubles in the loss and collected nine total doubles in the final two games of the series. Rocky Gale went 3-for-4 with an RBI, his second three-hit game of the series. Gale has seven hits and three RBIs in his last three games played. Christian Villanueva went 1-for-3 with a walk Thursday and reached base 11 times in the four-game series.
Thursday's score was 4-3 Fresno after two innings, continuing a trend of early runs in the series. The Chihuahuas and Grizzlies combined for 23 runs in the first and second innings of the four games. With first place Salt Lake losing to Oklahoma City, the Chihuahuas remain two games out of first place through 118 of their 142 scheduled contests.
