BB&T Fantasy Fan Sweepstakes winner announced

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Aug. 23, 2013) - The Winston-Salem Dash and BB&T are happy to announce that Amanda Johnson of Winston-Salem is the winner of the 2013 BB&T Fantasy Fan sweepstakes.

Johnson will be an honorary member of the Dash for their final home game of the season on Friday, August 30 at 7 p.m. against the Potomac Nationals. BB&T Ballpark will also be renamed Amanda Johnson Ballpark for the day.

As an honorary member of the team for the day, Johnson will receive her own locker in the Dash's clubhouse, complete with her own customized uniform. She will also have the opportunity to take batting practice with the team prior to the game. Also, Johnson will deliver the lineups to home plate during the umpire meeting, throw out the ceremonial first pitch and take the field with the Dash as the lineups are announced.

Johnson and 19 of her friends will then enjoy the game in the dugout suite, which is adjacent to the Dash's dugout. She will also be featured on the cover of the Dash's gameday program PlayBall!.

The BB&T Fantasy Fan sweepstakes ran from June 1 until July 12, and hundreds of fans registered for the contest this year through the Dash's website.

Fan Appreciation Week is underway at BB&T Ballpark. Monday at 7, fans will receive a ballpark dollar as they pass through the gates. There will also be giveaways throughout the game. Then, Winston-Salem opens its final home series of the season on Wednesday with a de facto doubleheader that begins at 6 p.m. before finishing off the slate with Thirsty Thursday and Fireworks Friday at 7 p.m.
