October 29, 2013

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Oct. 29, 2013) - The Winston-Salem Dash have released their 2014 schedule, which features 32 home games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Winston-Salem will kick off the campaign at home for the first time in the BB&T Ballpark era, which will open its fifth season in 2014.

Opening Day is set for Thursday, April 3, when the Dash host the Wilmington Blue Rocks in the first of a four-game set at BB&T Ballpark. Winston-Salem's franchise has not begun a season with a home series since 2007. Since the club moved into BB&T Ballpark in 2010, the Dash boast the second-best home record among the 120 squads in full-season Minor League Baseball.

The opening series will include three of the Dash's 32 weekend games, 11 of which are Friday contests. Fans will enjoy a spectacular fireworks show following each Friday game at BB&T Ballpark, while kids can run the bases after all 32 weekend games in 2014. Winston-Salem's full schedule contains 140 games, with 70 slated to take place at BB&T Ballpark.

Most Dash home games begin at 7 p.m., while Sunday games start at either 2 p.m. or 5 p.m. BB&T Ballpark will also host five weekday games at either 11 a.m. or noon.

The Dash will have home games on Easter (Sunday, April 20 vs. Salem) and the Fourth of July (Friday, July 4 vs. Wilmington). Winston-Salem's home slate also includes 10 games against both the Braves' High-A club-the Lynchburg Hillcats-and the reigning Carolina League champions-the Salem Red Sox.

For the best seats to the Dash's biggest games, fans can purchase season tickets by calling (336) 714-2287 or visiting wsdash.com. In addition to full-season packages, the Dash also offer partial-season plans of seven, 17, 18 or 35 games. Single-game tickets will go on sale in the spring.

BB&T Ballpark became the fastest Class A-Advanced facility to surpass the one million mark in attendance during the 2013 season. Since becoming the Dash prior to the 2009 season, Winston-Salem owns the Carolina League's best regular season record and has made two trips to the Mills Cup Championship Series. During this five-year period, 20 Dash alumni have played in Major League Baseball.
