WSSU set to play 33 games at BB&T Ballpark

Rams will suit up at the Dash's home once again in 2014
January 24, 2014

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Jan. 24, 2014) - The Winston-Salem State University baseball team kicks off a landmark season next Friday, February 1, with the first of 33 scheduled home games. All of these contests will be played at BB&T Ballpark, the home of the Winston-Salem Dash.

Thanks to this jam-packed home slate, the Rams will have played more than 70 games at BB&T Ballpark since its opening in 2010. This season marks the second consecutive campaign that WSSU will play all of its home games at the downtown facility. BB&T Ballpark hosted a portion of the Rams' home schedule in 2011 and 2012.

"Winston-Salem State is an invaluable part of our community, so it will be great to see the Rams play inside BB&T Ballpark once again in 2014," Dash team President Geoff Lassiter said. "It is exciting to know that the baseball season begins early in Winston-Salem."

Led by fourth-year coach Kevin Ritsche, the Rams compete in Division II's Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Last season, the Rams finished with a 39-13 record, which was the 10th-best mark in Division II baseball. WSSU's 39-win total was the highest in program history.

Admission for all Rams home games is $8 for adults and $5 for children, and tickets are available at the game. For a full schedule, visit wssurams.com.
