Trent Palmer threw the first 7-inning no-hitter in Dunedin Blue Jays history since 1979 on Thursday night in game two of a doubleheader against the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels.

After falling in game one of the doubleheader, the team looked to bounce back after an 0-2 start to the series. The offense managed five hits in the game bringing home two runs. Zach Britton hit his sixth home run of the season in the 4th, and it was the only run support that would be needed. Miguel Hiraldo had the other RBI in the game with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 6th.

The star of the game was easily Trent Palmer. He recorded a career-high seven innings with 10 strikeouts. He dominated the Mighty Mussels all night keeping them off balance from the jump. He took 92 pitches to get through the seven no-hit innings with 58 balls. It was also the second time in as many series against Fort Myers the pitching staff held a no-hitter through 6 plus innings. Naswell Paulino also had six no-hit innings in his last away outing in Fort Myers.

Trent Palmer is a Minnesota native drafted in the 3rd round of the 2020 draft from Jacksonville University in Florida. He was a top 30 prospect to start the season. Palmer became the last solo no-hitter in team history since Tom Singer in 1992 went the full nine innings with no hits against the same Fort Myers franchise.

The team looks to continue the success with a night game in TD Ballpark starting at 6:30.
