Bulls Open August With Promo Packed Lineup

Two Fireworks Shows, Russian Bar Trio, Brobee, Negro League Night Highlight Home Slate

DURHAM, NC - The Durham Bulls kick off the final full month of the 2012 season on Thursday, August 2nd when the team returns home for an eight game homestand. Two fireworks shows, appearances by the Russian Bar Trio, Tom and Jerry, and Brobee™ from Yo Gabba Gabba™, Autism Awareness Night and Negro League Night headline the promotional lineup.

The Bulls welcome the division rival Gwinnett Braves on Thursday, August 2nd, beginning a four-game series against Atlanta's top affiliate. The 7:05pm homestand opener is presented by Smith Breeden Associates and fans who bring a new children's book to the box office get a free ticket to that night's game. Throughout Thursday's game, fans will be entertained by the acrobatic precision of the Russian Bar Trio, who come back to the DBAP by popular demand.

On both the homestand opener on Thursday, August 2nd and finale on Thursday, August 9th, fans can take advantage of $1 concession items, including Bright Leaf hot dogs, popcorn and fries. Both Thursdays are also College Nights, where students can get a Terrace View ticket and $5 in Bulls Bucks for just $10 or an Outfield Reserved ticket for only $4.99 by entering the promo code COLLEGE when purchasing tickets online at durhambulls.com.

Friday Night Fireworks return to the DBAP on August 3rd, following the 7:05pm game between the Bulls and Braves. August 3rd will also mark the start of the fifth and final Time Warner Cable Weekend of the season. Popular cartoon characters Tom and Jerry will visit the DBAP on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, taking photos with fans thanks to Time Warner Cable.

Beginning with this homestand, all remaining Saturday home games will also feature postgame fireworks. August 4th will be the first such Saturday night fireworks show of the season. Saturday's 7:05pm game is also Autism Awareness Night, presented by '47. Special tickets are available for this game online at durhambulls.com, with $3 of each Autism Awareness Terrace Reserved ticket going to the Autism Society of North Carolina. The Ballpark Corner Store will also donate a portion of proceeds from the sale of '47 brand merchandise to ASNC.

Sunday's 5:05pm game will feature the Bulls' annual Negro League Night. Before the game, twenty local Negro League legends will be honored in an on-field ceremony. Durham's Negro Leaguers will then sign autographs for fans on the concourse. Bulls and Braves players will don Negro League throwback uniforms during the game. Following Sunday's game, Kids Run the Bases thanks to Pepsi.

On Monday, August 6, the Columbus Clippers invade the DBAP for a four game set, making their only visit of the year. The Cleveland Indians affiliate and back-to-back Triple-A National Champions bring with them a familiar face, as Russ Canzler returns to the city where he won the 2011 International League MVP award. Monday's 7:05pm game is presented by Hillandale Golf Course.

Fans can get 2 Terrace Reserved Tickets for $9 on Tuesday, August 7th thanks to Whole Foods Market. Wednesday's 7:05pm game is presented by Witherspoon Rose Culture.

Shop Local Raleigh presents the homestand finale on Thursday, August 9th. Young Bulls fans will be treated to a visit from Brobee™ of the immensely popular Nick Jr. show Yo Gabba Gabba™. Fans will be able to meet and take pictures with Brobee throughout the game.

The Durham Bulls return home to the DBAP on Thursday, August 2nd for an eight game homestand featuring visits from the Gwinnett Braves and Columbus Clippers.
