Foothills Brewing Draft Picks at the DBAP
Baseball has always been America's favorite past time but for beer enthusiasts it has meant a limited draft pick at the ballpark- draft beer picks that is. Luckily, popularity among craft beer enthusiasts has grown increasingly and ballparks around the nation have taken note. No longer are the days that one must settle for the typical American lager. Today, ballparks across the nation, both major and minor league, have expanded their selections to suit craft beer aficionado's palates across the board. Durham is no exception to the growing craft beer scene.
Ranked among the top 100 best brewers in the world on www.ratebeer.com, Foothills Brewing is a three time World Beer Cup winning brewery based locally out of Winston Salem, NC. Located on the concourse of the DBAP are two Foothill beers gardens that serve these award winning beers. Scott Mizerak, Foothills Eastern NC Sales Manager, says that "Durham and the Triangle in general have been the largest market for Foothills for some years now." Mizerak adds that he has heard from many people over the years that their favorite part of going to the Durham Bulls game is being able to enjoy Foothills beer while watching great baseball.
There are 4 Foothills brews on tap at the Bulls that offer a little something for everyone. Torch Pilsner is a Czech style pilsner that is strong in alcohol with a rich, full finish. Then there's the popular American style Pale Ale, Pilot Mountain. Being a hop forward brewery, IPA's are Foothills forte, so it's no surprise Hoppyum IPA is a flagship brew. It is full of citrusy American hops with an emphasis on Simcoe hops. Lastly, Carolina Blonde is a clean and refreshing flavor with an unmistakable smoothness.
Foothills is proudly served at the Durham Bulls and six other ballparks around North and South Carolina. While you're at the next ball game cheering on the Bulls, be sure to do so while sipping on a local, hand crafted, award winning Foothills brew!
