The Erie SeaWolves, in partnership with their parent club the Detroit Tigers and the Erie County Convention Center Authority, proudly announce an extension of the team's Player Development Contract with the Tigers and their lease to play at Jerry Uht Park. Both agreements now extend through the 2016 season.

"The Erie SeaWolves and our parent company, Mandalay Baseball Properties, are proud to extend our partnerships with the Detroit Tigers and the Erie County Convention Center Authority," said SeaWolves President Greg Coleman. "This announcement is an exciting way to start the 20th season of SeaWolves Baseball. We'd like to thank our partners and fans for their continued support."

The SeaWolves began play at Jerry Uht Park in 1995 as the Short-Season A New York-Penn League affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1999, Erie welcomed the Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the Anaheim Angels to town. The SeaWolves began their current affiliation with the Detroit Tigers in 2001. Since partnering with the Tigers, 130 SeaWolves players have played in Erie and advanced to play Major League Baseball.

"As the Tigers and SeaWolves enter our 15th year of affiliation, we are proud and very pleased to enter into this extension agreement through the 2016 season," said Dan Lunetta, Director of Minor League Operations for the Detroit Tigers. "This ensures our partnership to remain intact for the next few seasons and hopefully many more. We look forward to continue bringing the future of the Detroit Tigers through Jerry Uht Park with the goal of winning an Eastern League championship."

Since 1995, over four million fans have attended a SeaWolves game at Jerry Uht Park. The SeaWolves and the Erie County Convention Center Authority also partner to host additional ballpark events including concerts, block parties, amateur baseball, trade shows, and charitable fundraisers.

"The Erie County Convention Center Authority is thrilled continue our partnership with the SeaWolves and the Detroit Tigers through the 2016 season," Casey Wells, Executive Director of ECCCA said. "The SeaWolves provide quality, affordable family entertainment, and we're excited to extend the relationship."
