Opponents in the World Series

October 26, 2015

Both World Series teams have their Triple-A affiliate in the Pacific Coast League. The Kansas City Royals are partnered with the Omaha Storm Chasers and the New York Mets with the Las Vegas 51s.

The El Paso Chihuahuas visited Omaha in June of 2014 and won three of the four games. The Storm Chasers returned the favor in 2015, winning three of four at Southwest University Park in early June.

The Chihuahuas play the 51s more often; the two division rivals have clashed 32 times from 2014-2015.

Here are the players on 2015 World Series rosters who have suited up against the Chihuahuas. (Playoff rosters as of Monday, October 26.)

Kansas City Royals: INF Christian Colon, OF Paulo Orlando

Orlando appeared in four games at Southwest University Park in June.

New York Mets: RHP Jacob deGrom, LHP Steven Matz, RHP Noah Syndergaard, C Travis d'Arnaud, C Kevin Plawecki, INF Matt Reynolds, OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis

El Paso scored three runs in five innings against deGrom on April 20, 2014 at Cashman Field in Las Vegas. Since then, deGrom has been named 2014 National League Rookie of the Year and a 2015 Major League All-Star.

Matz pitched seven shutout innings on Mother's Day, May 10, 2015, at Southwest University Park.

Syndergaard was in El Paso when he found out he was going to the majors for the first time.

Reynolds could become a trivia answer. Believe it or not, he has not entered a game yet and could become the first player since Bug Holliday in 1885 to make his major league debut in the World Series.

The Chihuahuas 2016 home season starts on Friday, April 15th against Reno. Season Seats and Paw-tial Plans are available now by calling (915) 533-BASE!
