Baseball and beer. A timeless pairing. At PK Park, Eugene Emeralds' fans get to enjoy two local favorites while supporting a great cause. This season, the Ems are teaming up with independent brewer Ninkasi Brewing Company to give fans an easy way to support local public schools. Called 'Homers for Public Schools', Ems' fans can give back to local schools while enjoying a pint of locally-crafted Ninkasi beer at PK Park.

Every time the Ems hit a home run, Ninkasi will donate $1 of every Ninkasi pint sold within the next 30 minutes to Eugene/Springfield public schools. The benefiting organizations include the Bethel Education FoundationEugene Education Foundation, and Springfield Education Foundation.

"As a brewery, we don't have many chances to give back to our local schools," says Emilie Hartvig, national donations manager for Ninkasi and its Beer is Love program. "We are excited to find a way to integrate our Beer is Love program with the Ems and our local school districts."

Established in 2012, Ninkasi's Beer is Love program offers beer donations to registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations throughout every community where its beer is sold. Under this program, the brewery also hosts Pints for A Cause events weekly at its Tasting Room, donating $1 of each pint sold that day to a selected local nonprofit.

"Ninkasi is an outstanding partner of ours and we are overjoyed at teaming with them for this wonderful opportunity," says Allan Benavides, General Manager for the Eugene Emeralds. "By putting our two organizations together, we can benefit local schools tremendously."
