Ninkasi, Oakshire, GoodLife & 2 Towns Ciderhouse Are Brewing Up Some Fun at PK Park

April 11, 2014

The Eugene Emeralds announced today their continued partnership with Ninkasi and Oakshire
Brewing Company, as well as the newly established partnerships with GoodLife and 2 Towns Ciderhouse for the 2014 season. These craft beers and cider will be on tap at PK Park all summer long and will be included for the popular Beer Batter promotion. Each game a batter will be selected from the opposing team's lineup as the "Beer Batter". If this batter strikes out then all fans can enjoy any of these craft beers or cider for just $3 for the following 15 minutes of the game.

Ninkasi and Oakshire have both been served on tap at PK Park since 2011 and continue to be fan favorites at the ballpark. Ninkasi will be offering a wide variety of craft beers on tap at PK Park this summer including Total Domination IPA, Nuptiale, and selections from their Prismatic Lager Series. Total Domination IPA is the first beer Ninkasi ever brewed and continues to be their most popular beer. It has a citrusy, floral hop aroma, and a big hop flavor balanced with a richness imparted by Carahell and Munich malts. Nuptiale is a straw-hued cream ale with a rich, creamy mouthfeel and smooth drinkability. It has a light, crisp malt aroma with a bright refreshing hop finish and fruity hop presence. Selections from the Prismatic Lager Series will be featured on tap and are a year-round procession of Northwest-embellished traditional lager styles.

Oakshire will also be offering a broad range of four different craft beers that will be rotated throughout the season. The Reclamation Lager is a Czech style Pilsner that has a soft bread-like aroma with a sharp spicy Noble hop flavor. The Ems will also be carrying two Pale Ale's on tap this summer. The Line Dry Pale Ale is brewed with rye and honey, which has a crisp bitterness and slight citrusy flavor that is balanced out with just a small note of sweetness from the honey. The Watershed IPA is a Northwest style India Pale Ale that is bold and balanced with a flavor and aroma of grapefruit, resin and pine. The fourth Oakshire beer that will be on tap at PK Park this summer will be the Overcast Espresso Stout. This silky oatmeal stout is brewed with beans from a Eugene coffee roaster, and is rich, smooth and full of coffee flavor and aroma.

2 Towns Ciderhouse is local to Oregon and uses only the finest fresh pressed-100% Northwest apples in their cider. Hard cider has recently seen an increase in popularity and serves as a refreshing alternative drink option to beer at the ballpark. The Ems are also very excited to offer another Oregon-based brewing company on tap at PK Park this summer. GoodLife Brewing is based in Bend, OR and perfectly balances a malt and hop profile beer.

"We are very fortunate to have the best beer line-up in the Northwest league. With local beer champions, Ninkasi and Oakshire, and now with the addition of GoodLife and 2 Towns Ciderhouse, Ems fans are going to have a fantastic array of Oregon crafted products to choose from." said Allan Benavides, General Manger of the Emeralds.

The Emeralds will have their home opener on June 18 against the Boise Hawks and will be hosting the 2014 Northwest League All-Star Game on August 5.
