Altoona jumped on Erie starter
The SeaWolves brought the game to within two in the fifth inning.
Altoona added another run in the seventh inning on Dowdy.
Erie tried to make it interesting in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Scioneaux (2-1) earned the win after allowing only one run on six hits and one walk in 3.0 IP with a strikeout. Dowdy (2-3) received the loss for Erie, allowing four runs on eight hits and four walks while fanning eight batters. Eckelman picked up his third save after working the final two innings for Altoona, only giving up one run on three hits and two strikeouts.
The series will end Sunday at UPMC Park between Erie and Altoona. RHP
