New Food Items Coming to PK Park

June 7, 2016

EUGENE, OR - Gone are the days where fans will only be satisfied with a hot dog and peanuts while cheering on the Eugene Emeralds. This season, the Emeralds are excited to introduce some new food items to PK Park. The newest recruits include a taste of Chicago and good-old fashioned fried food.

As a nod to their Chicago ties, the Emeralds are thrilled to welcome a taste of Wrigley to the ballpark! Wrigleyville Café will serve up some Chicago treats this summer. The first classic fans will be able to enjoy is the Chicago Dog served the authentic way, premium beef topped with a pickle spear, sport pepper, neon green relish, onions and tomatoes. The Café will also serve an Italian Beef Sandwich served topped with giardiniera.

Fans should be prepared to experience a familiar aroma as soon as they walk into the gates this summer. PK Park and the Emeralds newest food stand, the Dugout Diner, will host a cluster of fryers. Fans of all ages will be able to enjoy french fries, garlic and chili cheese fries, chicken tenders and corndogs. If they feel daring, fans can order up deep fried corn on a cob, deep fried pickles and Irish Nachos.

With all the new food recruits at the ballpark this summer, no fans should leave hungry. Fans over 21 will be excited see a price reduction at the beer carts. Fans will see a lower price for Ninkasi beer throughout the season, along with our favorite beer batter promo! Emeralds favorite such as Prince Pucklers ice cream, the philly cheese steak sandwich and the Sweet Heat burger will be returning to the starting line ups.

Fans can test out some the newest creations at Ems Fest on June 15, or on Opening Day June 17.

The Eugene Emeralds are the short-season Class A team of the Chicago Cubs. In 2015, six of the top 30 Cubs prospects spent time in Eugene including Ian Happ, Donnie Dewees and Eloy Jimenez. With 61 years, the Emeralds are the longest tenured and only founding member remaining in the Northwest League.
