Felix Hernandez Set to Make Rebab Start in Everett

Felix prepares for the 2nd half of the season with brother Moises in Everett
July 6, 2016

Everett, WA - Felix Hernandez was placed on the 15 Day Disabled List on June 1 with a right calf strain. Barring any setbacks, Hernandez will continue his recovery process with a scheduled start for the AquaSox on July 10. The next step of his recovery process could be a scheduled start in Tacoma.

Hernandez returning to Everett for the first time since he pitched in 11 games in 2003 is not the only storyline. Felix will be assisted in his comeback by his brother, Moises Hernandez, who serves as the pitching coach for the AquaSox.

The Mariners' ace has a record of 4-4 with an ERA of 2.86 through 10 starts this season. Upon returning, Felix will look to carry the Mariners to a post-season berth for the first time since 2001.

"This will be an incredible day for AquaSox fans! To have Felix Hernandez, one of the true aces in Major League Baseball, coming back and performing in front of the fans in Everett could be a once in a lifetime opportunity!" says AquaSox General Manager Danny Tetzlaff.

The Sunday, July 10, game against the Spokane Indians starts at 4:05pm. Gates will open at 2:00pm instead of the usual 3:00pm time to accommodate the expected sellout and increased fan interest.

Along with it being Kid's Day, it is also Root Beer Float Day, where all proceeds go directly to the AquaSox Community Fund. Finally, the team will host a post-game Kids Play Catch on the Field, where kids can have a blast on the field that "The King" and the AquaSox just played on.

Get Tickets HERE, or call (425) 258-3673 TODAY. This game will sell out.
