The New Hampshire Fisher Cats scored first for the second consecutive night but couldn't hold the lead, falling 9-4 to the Akron RubberDucks at Canal Park.
Tim Lopes started the scoring for New Hampshire in the second. With Emilio Guerrero on first after a single and two outs on the board, Lopes tripled to right-centerfield to plate Guerrero and make it 1-0 Fisher Cats.
Akron tied the game with a solo shot from Eric Haase in the bottom of the second then took the lead for good when Joe Sever launched a two-run home run to left field in the fifth that put the RubberDucks up 3-1.
The Cleveland Indians affiliate added insurance runs in the sixth (2), seventh (3) and eighth (1) to pad their lead.

New Hampshire scored a run in the seventh after Anthony Alford doubled to start the frame and later scored on an RBI groundout by Guerrero. Jonathan Davis plated a run with an RBI single in the eighth and the 'Cats scored another in the inning on a wild pitch, but it wouldn't be enough as they dropped game two 9-4.
The series concludes Thursday night at Canal Park. RHP Jon Harris (5-10, 5.38 ERA) will go for the Fisher Cats while RHP Matt Esparza (5-4, 4.41 ERA) is set to start for the RubberDucks. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. and can be heard locally on AM 610 WGIR or online via iHeartRadio.
