Final Score Keys 5 and Scrappers 6

KEYS FINAL SCORE MW 8-23 2023

Frederick, MD – The Keys unfortunately squandered a gem by Hunter Viets on Wednesday night, and a late Mahoning Valley rally led the Scrappers to a 6-5 win. The Scrappers scored first when Corey King scored on an error in the top of the first.

In the bottom of the second, Noah Martinez launched a solo home run to right field to even the game.

The back and forth continued in the third as the Scrappers took the lead back on a sacrifice fly off of the bat of TJ Reeves.

Johnny Kampes and Cameron Butler rattled off back to back singles with two outs in the fourth to put the Keys back up 3-2. Kampes made it 4-2 in the sixth with an RBI double.

After Viets left the game, the Scrappers scored a pair to tie the game against reliever Caiden Wood. Wood allowed a sac fly and wild pitch to allow the tying run to score.

Noah Martinez continued his great night by putting the Keys back ahead in the seventh inning with an RBI single.

With one out in the ninth, the Scrappers tied the game on a triple by D’Aires Davis, who then scroed the go-ahead run on a Corey King single.
