Grasshoppers 18 Hits Boost Them Above the Tourists, 15-2

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers topped the Tourists, 15-2 on Thursday, May 30. The Grasshoppers improved to 29-19 while the Tourists fell to 20-27. Greensboro outhit Ashville 18-4 while the Tourists had one mishap.

Infielder Charles McAdoo led the Grasshoppers offense as he went 5-6 with one RBI and three runs scored. Infielder Nick Cimillo and Luke Brown followed behind both going 3-5. Cimillo recorded one home run, two RBI, and three runs scored. Brown recorded a grand slam, one home run, five RBI, and three runs scored. Outfiedler Lonnie White Jr. went 2-4 and also tallied a grand slam for Greensboro, with six RBI, and one run scored.

Leading at the dish for the Tourist was infielder Ryan Johnson as he went 1-4 with a home run, two RBI, and one run scored. Hits for Asheville were also tallied by Luis Baez, Austin Deming, and Yamal Encarnacion.

Starting on the mound for Greensboro was lefthanded pitcher Hunter Barco as he tallied seven strikeouts and gave up four hits, two earned runs, and one free base on five innings of work. Barco recorded the win for the Grasshoppers and improved to 2-1 on the season.

Starting on the rubber for Asheville was righthanded pitcher Manuel Urias as he tallied three strikeouts and gave up nine hits, 10 runs (nine earned runs), and one free base on three innings of work. Urias took the loss for the Tourists and fell to 0-6 on the season.
