Grasshoppers Continue its Win Streak Over the Blue Rocks With a 6-0 Victory

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Wilmington Blue Rocks 6-0, on Friday, June 9. The Grasshoppers improved to 30-23 while the Blue Rocks fell to 25-29 as Greensboro outhit Wilmington 12-7.

Starting on the mound for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher Braxton Ashcraft as he tallied seven strikeouts and gave up five hits and two free bases on 3.1 innings of work. Yunior Thibo recorded the win for the Grasshoppers for his first of the season.

Andry Lara took the loss for the Blue Rocks and fell to 1-4 on the season.

Leading at the plate for the Grasshoppers was infielder Tsung-Che Cheng as he went 3-4 with a home run and two runs scored. Tres Gonzalez and Sammy Siani both recorded doubles for the night while Jase Bowen and Will Matthiessen each recorded home runs.
