HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Eats for Seats returns to Municipal Stadium in downtown Hagerstown during the 2017 season with Washington County Community Action Council serving as the new sponsor.
During Tuesday games, Suns fans can donate an unexpired canned food item at the stadium gate to receive $2 off any ticket. The Suns will host seven Eats for Seats events this season (July 4 excluded), beginning April 11 with a 6:05 p.m. first pitch against the Lakewood BlueClaws.
"This partnership will allow CAC to not only gather important food donations but also raise awareness about our many services," said Washington County Community Action Council President and CEO George Newman III. "We keep donations local to aid 150 to 200 families monthly right here in our county."
"We're excited to welcome CAC into our Eats for Seats program," Suns general manager Travis Painter explained. "Keeping donations here in Washington County is especially important to us."
Washington County Community Action Council utilizes grant funds and donations to provide more than 25 programs and services to approximately 10,000 Washington County residents every year. CAC assists households with needs related to food, energy, housing, transportation, and various crisis situations such as evictions and utility terminations.
CAC recently moved into its newly renovated Hagerstown location at 117 Summit Avenue, formerly Maidstone Interiors. The agency is open Monday through Friday with appointments made on a first-come, first-served basis.
