'Dads Announce 2016 Christian Concerts
Hickory, NC - The Hickory Crawdads have announced a pair of Christian Concerts for the 2016 season. Love & the Outcome, presented by 106.9 The Light and Catawba County Social Services, will perform after the 'Dads game on Saturday, May 14th, while the Chick-fil-A Christian Concert on Saturday, July 30th will feature the return of Big Daddy Weave to L.P. Frans Stadium, courtesy of Garner Webb University, 106.9 The Light, and Catawba County Social Services.
Suites, Party Patios, Picnics, and group tickets are on sale now for both concerts, with individual tickets going on sale at the Crawdads Spring Fling event on Saturday, March 12th. Tickets include admission to both the game and post-game concert.
The husband-wife duo Love & The Outcome packed their debut album with songs that speak to the faith journey they've braved through the years. Vocalist Jodi King and her husband, bass player Chris Rademaker, burst on to the scene in August of 2013 with the self-titled release Love & The Outcome, which reached No. 28 on the Top Christian Albums chart.
The Christian Contemporary-Pop Rock band went on to win the GMA Canada Covenant Award for New Artist of the Year, and have been touring the country ever since.
"Life on the road was all we'd ever known," says Jodi, who met her husband while they toured with venerable Canadian worship artist Jon Buller. "So when we hit the road, we just responded to what God challenged us to be," as musicians sharing (and inspiring) faith through song.
Since last appearing in front of a sold out crowd at L.P. Frans Stadium in 2013, Big Daddy Weave has continued to dominate the Christian music charts with their 2015 hit album Beautiful Offerings. The critically acclaimed eighth studio album entered at No. 4 on the Billboard Christian album chart, with hit songs such as "My Story" and "I Belong to God."
The band's previous album Love Come to Life yielded back-to-back No. 1 singles in "Redeemed" and "Love Come to Life." "Redeemed" spent 11 weeks at No. 1, was dubbed "Song of the Year" at the first annual K-LOVE Fan Awards, garnered Dove Award and Billboard Music Award nominations and was certified a gold single by the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 records.
Big Daddy Weave has been a fixture atop the Christian Music charts for the past decade, beginning with a Dove Awards nomination as New Artist of the Year in 2002 and including a 2010 Dove Award for the album Christ Is Come. They have been honored at ASCAP's Christian Music Awards, were chosen for the WOW Hits compilations in five separate years, and are one of the 10 most played artists at Christian radio over the past decade.
