Rain Cancels Finale in Frederick

June 6, 2013

Thursday's game between the Lynchburg Hillcats and Frederick Keys has been cancelled due to inclement weather. Because the two teams do not face each other again in the first half, the game will not be made up. The Hillcats were looking to earn a split of the would-be four-game series. This would have been the final game between the Hillcats and a Northern Division rival in the first half.

The Hillcats return home Friday for a doubleheader with the Salem Red Sox starting at 6:05pm. Ryan Weber (3-1, 2.75) was supposed to start for the Hillcats tonight but will instead start game one of the doubleheader, facing off with Kyle Stroup (3-3, 3.88) for the Red Sox. Greg Ross (2-2, 4.36) was supposed to start game one but will now pitch in game two for the Hillcats. Salem has yet to announce a starter for game two of the double dip.

Gates open at 5pm and the first 1,000 fans will get a free t-shirt, courtesy of High Peak Sportswear and WYYD. The weekend series is the final home stand of the first half for the Hillcats. If you can't make it to the ballpark, Erik Wilson and Jake Levy will have all the play-by-play action starting with the Hillcats On-Deck Show, powered by Honda/Suzuki of Lynchburg, going live at 5:40pm on 97.9 FM The Planet and lynchburg-hillcats.com
