Meet the Broadcasters | Presented by Founders Federal Credit Union

Ian Unsworth

Unsworth is the Spartanburgers' Broadcast and Media Relations Manager. He will call all 132 games, while also serving as the primary media contact and creating content for the Spartanburgers' social media pages.

Prior to moving to Spartanburg, Unsworth spent two years in Durham, NC, calling games for Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, North Carolina Central, UNC-Greensboro and others. He spent the 2024 season as the Broadcast and Media Relations Assistant for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A Affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.

A native of Ann Arbor, MI, Unsworth graduated from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in May of 2023. While in college, he served as the Assistant Sports Director at 88.3 FM WAER and broadcast various events on ACC Network Extra and ESPN+.

Spartanburgers Radio Network

The Hub City Spartanburgers will be on the air for all 132 games this season! Ian Unsworth and Andrew Selover will call the play-by-play. FFCU Spartanburgers Pregame starts 15 minutes before every game (6:20 p.m. for a 6:35 first pitch, etc.) and features interviews with manager Carlos Maldonado and a player or special guest every day.

Andrew Selover

Selover is the Spartanburgers' Broadcast and Media Relations Assistant. He will call Hub City's home games and select road games alongside Ian Unsworth. Selover also serves as a secondary media contact for the team and creates content for the team's social media pages and website.

Selover comes to Spartanburg after spending the past two summers as a broadcaster with the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. An Atlanta, GA native, Selover graduated from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in December of 2024. He spent time broadcasting Syracuse games for ACC Network Extra, 88.3 FM WAER, and 89.1 FM WJPZ.

To listen to the Spartanburgers, tune in on Fox Sports Spartanburg or StreamGuys. Over 100 of Hub City's games air on 98.3 FM WSPG, better known as Fox Sports Spartanburg, the radio partner of the Spartanburgers. When conflicts arise, radio broadcasts will still be live streamed on the MiLB app and at the StreamGuys link above. Credentials

Requesting Credentials

All credential requests must be submitted online by using the form linked here. An email is not considered a credential request. Credentials will be strictly limited to legitimate working media professionals and are only valid for single games. The Spartanburgers require that credential requests are made at least 24 hours prior to the game of your choice. Late requests will not be granted. Media already credentialed through Major League Baseball, the Texas Rangers, or any other MLB club will still need to apply through the Spartanburgers for a credential to Fifth Third Park. No other credentials will be accepted. All credential-related questions should be sent to to Ian Unsworth: [email protected].

When your credential request is approved, you will receive an email with a parking map and other necessary media information. You will also receive an email from FanMaker for a food voucher worth $10, good for a burger and non-alcoholic beverage.

Parking

The Spartanburgers recommend media park in the Pollard Street garage beyond left field. The address is 158 Pollard Street. If a media member has filled out the credential form 24 hours in advance, they will be able to park in the garage free of charge. However, garage spots are first come, first serve; we cannot guarantee spaces for media members.

Credential Pick Up | Entry

Upon arrival, media members will pick up credentials outside of the left field gate at the box office. A valid driver's license must be presented to pick up your credential. After receiving your credential, please enter through the left field gate. All bags and other equipment will be subject to screening when entering.

Daily Schedule | Facility Hours

Daily schedules, game times and facility hours are all subject to change. The press box will typically be open for media beginning two and a half hours before first pitch and remain open for approximately 45 minutes following the last out.

Player and Coach Availability

The Spartanburgers’ players and coaching staff will mainly be made available for media based on demand. Generally, player and coach media availability will take place prior to batting practice.

The organization will send planned media availability updates via email.
Interview requests must be submitted 24 hours prior to the day of, regardless of whether you plan on conducting the interview in person, via Zoom or on the phone.
The Spartanburgers have the right to deny any interview requests.

Access Areas

Press Box: The Fifth Third Park Press Box is located on the second level of the stadium. To get to the press box, take take the stairs or elevator located to the left of the home plate team store up to the club level. The press box door is located just outside of the Milliken Club.

Media members are welcome to explore Fifth Third Park before and during the games. However, the expectation is members of the media will work in their designated areas for most of their time at the ballpark. Media passes do not allow access to premium spaces, including suites, the Milliken Club, AFL Dugout Lounge, or Bo Boxes.
Limited seating will be provided in the press box on a first come, first serve basis.
Overflow press area: Additional press seating will be sectioned off in the Dr Pepper Terrace in right field.
News cameras can set up behind sections 108 and 111 to film. Photographers must be issued a field credential to enter the dugout media wells, and may only stand in the designated media wells to take pictures.
Media will not be allowed on the field of play at any time unless arrangements have been made at least 24 hours in advance.

Dress Code | Code of Conduct

Media members are expected to dress professionally and follow all MiLB media protocols. Unprofessional behavior, including but not limited to the actions below, will result in credentials being revoked, and possible further consequences:

Attempting to contact manager, coaches or players without the permission of team media contacts at any point
Using a credential to attend games without permission from proper team media contacts
Accessing team-only or player-only facilities without permission and supervision from front office staff
Entering either dugout, bullpen, or the field of play without a “Field” credential
Harassing fans, player family or relatives, special guests of the team, or organizational staff
Disrupting the flow of the game and/or impeding other media members’ workflow
