Team USA sets roster for Cuba game

The USA Baseball Collegiate National Team has finalized its 24-man roster that will take part in international competition this summer. The group features 12 hitters and 12 pitchers. Five members will be serving their second tour with the squad.

The Iowa Cubs will host the first game of this summer's international friendship series between Team USA and the Cuban National Team. The game is set for July 18 at Principal Park as the two countries' Collegiate National Team programs will face off for the second consecutive year.

Tickets are on sale now for the 7:05 p.m. Thursday, July 18, game at Principal Park. (Ticket prices are same as Iowa Cubs games, ranging from $7 to $25 for adults.) It will be a Mug Club Thursday Night. Fireworks will follow the game.

Returning to the 2013 Collegiate National Team are David Berg (RHP, UCLA), Michael Conforto (OF, Oregon State), Austin Cousino (OF, Kentucky), Carlos Rodon (LHP, North Carolina State) and Trea Turner (IF, North Carolina State). For Cousino, it marks the third time in his career that he will represent USA Baseball after also playing with the 16U National Team.

TCU leads the way with three participants in LHP Brandon Finnegan, RHP Preston Morrison and RHP Riley Ferrell. Indiana also boasts multiple participants in catcher Kyle Schwarber and infielder Sam Travis.
