Former Cyclone Basketball Star Monte Morris to Visit Principal Park Saturday

The Denver Nuggets guard will greet fans, throw first pitch

DES MOINES, IA - Former Iowa State Cyclones basketball star and current Denver Nuggets guard, Monte Morris, is slated to throw a ceremonial first pitch at the Iowa Cubs game on Saturday, July 21. Morris will also greet fans and sign autographs in the concourse prior to the 7:08 p.m.

DES MOINES, IA - Former Iowa State Cyclones basketball star and current Denver Nuggets guard, Monte Morris, is slated to throw a ceremonial first pitch at the Iowa Cubs game on Saturday, July 21. Morris will also greet fans and sign autographs in the concourse prior to the 7:08 p.m. game vs. New Orleans.

Morris was a standout at Iowa State, averaging 16.7 points per game as a senior (2016-17) while playing in an ISU-record 121-straight games. He set an NCAA career record with a 4.65 assist-to-turnover ratio and was the only player in the nation to average 16.0 points, 6.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and less then 2.0 turnovers per game. The Flint, Mich. native was selected by the Nuggets in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft with the 51st overall pick.
