The IronPigs (68-51) surrendered three home runs and fell to the Charlotte Knights (48-70) Friday night at Coca-Cola Park before 9,345 fans.

Rob Brantly hit two home runs, including a two-run homer to lead the Knights to a 5-2 lead over the Pigs.
Brantly hit his first of his pair of homers, as he led off the top of the fourth inning with a solo home run to right field to give Charlotte a 1-0 lead.
The Pigs stormed back to reclaim the lead in the bottom of the frame. J.P. Crawford doubled home Scott Kingery, who led off the inning with a single, to tie the game at one. Crawford would advance to third on a base hit from Cameron Perkins, and would then score on a sacrifice fly by Brock Stassi to give the Pigs a 2-1 lead.
Former IronPig Cody Asche would take the lead back for the Knights, as he lifted a two-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to take a 3-2 lead.
Pigs starter José Taveras, who had not allowed an earned run in his first 14 innings of Triple-A baseball was tabbed with the loss as he surrendered three runs on six hits over six innings.
Joey DeNato would surrender the two-run home run by Brantly, and surrendered the two runs on one hit in his inning of work before giving way to Alexis Rivero.
Rivero would toss the final two innings and did not yield a hit while striking out a pair.
The four-game series with the Knights continues Saturday night at Coca-Cola Park. The Pigs will send right-hander Jake Thompson (4-12 ,5.35) and the Knights will send right-hander Chris Volstad. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
