The Flying Tigers lost 6-4 to the Threshers in a game that lasted just 5 1/2 innings before the skies opened and rain started falling, ending the game early.

The Threshers jumped on Florida State League ERA leader Spenser Watkins early, scoring three runs in the first inning. The Flying Tigers responded against Adonis Medina in the bottom of the first, moving within one of the lead on a two-RBI double by right fielder Troy Montgomery.
Jose Azocar tied the game in the bottom of the second with a two-out single that scored AJ Simcox. The back and forth nature of the game continued in the top of the third, when Threshers third baseman Luke Williams singled in Jose Pujols.
Simcox knotted the score at four apiece in the of the third with his second triple of the game, a shot into the gap that knocked in Cole Peterson. Unforunately, that would be the last run of the game for Lakeland, whose bats went quiet as the skies darkened.
After a scoreless fourth, Clearwater took the lead with a sacrifice fly in the fifth and extended that lead with an RBI single in the sixth. As the Flying Tigers stepped up to bat in the sixth, thunder rolled in and cause the delay and eventual early conclusion of the 6-4 loss.
Since five full innings were completed, the game is considered official and tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.
