Below are some Frequently Asked Questions you may have regarding how Covid-19 affects the Lancaster JetHawks and the start of the 2020 season.

We will be updating this page with any adjustments to our policies regarding any cancelled or postponed games/events. These updates will also be posted on our social channels, and we encourage you to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to get the most up-to-date information. Please feel free to reach out with any questions via social media or email [email protected].

Does this mean the 2020 season is cancelled?

No. The start of the season has been delayed by Minor League Baseball, but the season has not been cancelled.

When will the season start?

While we don’t have an official Opening Day set at this time, we do know the start of the season will be delayed. In accordance with the recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding gatherings of groups of 50 or more people, our partners at MLB have committed to an 8-week (starting March 16) delay. MiLB clubs will be working in tandem with MLB to determine our schedule as the situation develops.

How will the schedule change to accommodate the late start?

As the situation is continuing to evolve, we are not yet certain how the schedule will be impacted right now. We are treating all games affected by the delay as “postponed events.” MLB has communicated the goal is to make up and play a full season, if possible. We are operating under the same policy with the goal of returning to normal operating procedures to play as many games as possible.

I have tickets to the home opener and/or other games, what does this mean for me?

Fans who purchased a ticket to a game that is cancelled due to the delayed start to the season will be able to exchange their tickets for any remaining home game during the 2020 season. This includes the rescheduled date of the JetHawks first home game in 2020, once announced.

Can we still visit the team store and JetHawks Front Office?

We understand fans still want to stock up on gear for the upcoming season, however in the interest of the health and safety of our staff and our fans, the JetHawks offices are currently closed. We encourage fans to shop online at jethawks.com or email us at [email protected] with questions.

What is Minor League Baseball communicating with its clubs?

We have been working closely with Minor League Baseball as the current situation has unfolded. Minor League Baseball also released the following statement following the initial delay of the season:

“In light of the current coronavirus outbreak, and after consultation with medical professionals and our partners at Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball will delay the start of the 2020 Championship Season. We will continue to monitor the developments and will announce additional information about the 2020 season at a later date. We will work with Major League Baseball and our community partners to resume play as soon as it is safe to do so. The health and safety of Minor League Baseball fans, players and executives is our top priority, and our thoughts are with those around the world who have been affected by this outbreak.”
