WGN Chicago & FSN Northwest Seattle To Televise Big League Weekend (March 28-29)
The two day event will feature the Seattle Mariners vs. Chicago Cubs on Friday, March 28 at 7:15 p.m. and Saturday, March 29 at 12:05 p.m. at Cashman Field.
WGN Superstation Chicago (Cox Cable Channel 16) will televise the two-game series. Len Kasper and Bob Brenly will call the action for both games.
The Mariners will also televise Saturday's game on FSN Northwest. Dave Sims and Mike Blowers will call the action.
"Las Vegas receives great exposure on the television coverage during Big League Weekend and the LVCVA has the opportunity to welcome tourists from two key markets from Chicago and Seattle," 51s President/General Manager Don Logan said. "The two-game series between the Mariners and Cubs is a great way to begin the professional baseball season for the fans of Southern Nevada. We are also looking forward to begin our 26th PCL season in Las Vegas on April 3 with the season opener at Cashman Field."
The radio broadcast schedule will feature KOMO 1000 AM (Seattle) and WGN 720 AM (Chicago). Veteran broadcaster Dave Niehaus and Rick Rizzs will call the action for Seattle and Pat Hughes and Cubs legend Ron Santo will call the action for the Cubs.
The 51s, under manager Lorenzo Bundy, will open their 26th PCL season on Thursday, April 3 at 7:05 p.m. at Cashman Field against the Salt Lake Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
