Cairo, Kemp and Reyes lead attack

Allentown, Pennsylvania (June 19, 2026) — The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (34-39) evened the series at two games apiece against the Worcester Red Sox (35-34) with a 9-3 win on Juneteenth at Coca-Cola Park.
The IronPigs scored first in their initial trip to the plate. Keaton Anthony drove in Christian Cairo and Otto Kemp with a double down the left-field line to make it 2-0. Cairo extended his on-base streak to 19 games with a leadoff single.
In the fourth inning, the WooSox tied the game at 2-2 when Matt Thaiss sent a two-out single into center field to plate Anthony Seigler and Mikey Romero.
Worcester took the lead in the fifth on a Tyler McDonough home run, 3-2.
The IronPigs responded in the fifth when Felix Reyes singled, stole second base and scored on an Otto Kemp single to center field, tying the game at 3-3.
Otto Kemp put the IronPigs ahead for good in the seventh inning with his sixth home run of the season, making it 4-3.
The IronPigs’ offense exploded for five runs in the eighth. Cairo singled to center to drive in Carter Kieboom, making it 5-3 with two on and two out for Felix Reyes. Reyes popped one up near the mound that fell and allowed Dylan Carlson and Christian Cairo to push the lead to 7-3. The IronPigs tacked on two more with singles from Anthony and Bryan De La Cruz.
Chuck King (W, 4-3) earned the win with seven innings and four strikeouts, allowing three runs. Angel Bastardo (L, 2-1) took the loss, surrendering the home run to Kemp in the seventh.
Lehigh Valley and Worcester continue the series Saturday, June 20, at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is 6:35 p.m., with Drake Fellows on the mound for the IronPigs and a TBD starter for Worcester.
