IronPigs to Host Phenom Bryce Harper

March 19, 2012
Bryce Harper, one of the most heralded prospects in baseball history, is slated to take the field against the IronPigs in a three-game set at Coca-Cola Park beginning on April 11th.

Harper, 19, is entering just his second professional season after the Nationals selected him with the first overall pick in the 2010 draft.

In his debut season, the Las Vegas native hit a combined .297 with 17 home runs and 58 RBI for Hagerstown (A) and Harrisburg (AA). Harper continued to impress after the season, as he was named to the Arizona Fall League's All-Prospect Team after hitting .333 with 6 homers and 26 RBI in 25 games.

The left-handed slugger is already collecting numerous accolades in his young career. He was named to the South Atlantic League mid-season all-star team a season ago and selected to play in the 2011 Futures Game during the MLB All-Star week in Arizona.

All three games for the April 11-13 series between the 'Pigs and Chiefs are 7:05 starts.

Single-game tickets, season tickets, mini plans and group tickets for the 2012 season presented by Capital BlueCross are on sale now.
