Worcester, Massachusetts (August 5, 2026)–The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (17-17, 52-57) avoided a shutout thanks to a Robert Moore solo homer but fell 10-1 to the Worcester Red Sox (21-13, 57-48) on Wednesday night at Polar Park.
Worcester opened the scoring with a Franklin Arias two-run homer in the third inning before adding on five more in the fifth. Arias drove in his third run as he was hit by a pitch to force in a run to start the rally before a Nate Eaton two-run double. A sacrifice fly from Mickey Gasper tacked on another before Mikey Romero capped the frame with an RBI triple to make it 7-0.
Moore’s solo homer came in the top of the seventh to get the ‘Pigs on the board, but was promptly cancelled out when Gasper hit a solo shot of his own in the last of the frame for Worcester.
Eaton made it a four RBI day for himself as he drove in two more in the last of the eighth with a triple to make it 10-1.
Hobie Harris (W, 2-0) worked two perfect frames of relief to earn the win for the WooSox while Chuck King (L, 7-6) took the loss for the ‘Pigs, charged with seven runs in 4.1 innings.
The ‘Pigs and WooSox continue their series on Thursday, August 6th at Polar Park with first pitch scheduled for 12:05 p.m. Drake Fellows gets the start for the ‘Pigs while the WooSox have not yet named a starter.
