Chattanooga Lookouts shortstop Nick Gordon went 2-for-4 with a home run and a triple to lead the team to a 4-1 win over the Birmingham Barons. The victory was the team's ninth straight at home and moves them into sole possesion of first place in the North Division.
Gordon started the game off with a bang as he knocked a triple and scored on Edgar Corcino RBI double. They added one more on an error by Cleuluis Rondon. In the fourth they doubled their run total on a Gordon two run home run.
The early lead was enough for starter Nik Turley who dominanted in his first start back with the team. In just four innings the lefty struck out nine batters in four innings while only allowing one hit. His ERA is now 0.37 on the year and has 45 strikeouts overall. The team finished the evening with 14 strikeouts as Matt Tracy fanned four in four innings and Nick Burdi struck out one to earn his first save of the year.
Tomorrow, the Lookouts go for their second straight home series sweep. The RJ Young Business Person Special is set to begin at 11:15 a.m. with gates opening at 9:30 a.m.
