The Lowell Spinners, short-season affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, are proud to announce a new giveaway procedure for the 2018 season to allow maximum convenience for fans.
Giveaway items have historically been given to the first 1,000 fans in the ballpark and that will remain the case in 2018, but now fans will receive a giveaway voucher upon their entry to the park. The voucher can be redeemed in the Home Plate BBQ anytime after the end of the fifth inning until two days after the day of the game. Fans may only receive one voucher per person. Those who wish to claim their giveaway item after the day of the game may do so in either the team store or at the box office by redeeming their giveaway voucher. In the event of inclement weather, the giveaway will be rescheduled unless the gates have already been opened for that night.
"We have learned from our fans that they've grown weary of the challenge of carrying large giveaway item bobblehead dolls during the game." said Spinners General Manager Shawn Smith. "This new policy will free their up their hands to tend to their families as well as decrease the risk of giveaways being either damaged, lost, or misplaced once fans are in the park."
It should be noted that the new giveaway policy will apply only to bulky souvenir items, such as one of the five bobbleheads the Spinners will be giving away this season or the LeLacheur Park Snow Globe on July 25th. Items such as the Harry Potter Jersey (August 5), the Fred C. Church Hat (August 23), and the Uncut Card Sheet (August 29) will be passed out at the gate for the first 1,000 fans in the ballpark.
Fans who have guaranteed their giveaway items with either season tickets or the Premium Giveaway Mini Plan will still be guaranteed their giveaway vouchers, ensuring their reception of each item included in their respective plans.
Spinners baseball returns to LeLacheur Park on Monday, June 18th when the Staten Island Yankees come to town for a 6:35 p.m. first pitch. Tickets are on sale now at lowellspinners.com or by calling the box office at (978) 459-1702.
