Fans will be able to take batting practice on the field (weather permitting), taste test new concession items, enjoy live music, a behind-the-scenes stadium tour and much more. Upon entry to the ballpark, all fans will receive a coupon for one FREE hot dog at the first base concession stand.
The 14th annual media home run derby will take place shortly after gates open. The derby features on-air TV and radio personalities from the greater Lynchburg area. Last year, Dave Walls of WSET-TV ABC 13 was crowned champion for the first time after blasting eight home runs.
The Hillcats will be hosting a garage sale outside the souvenir store with discounted merchandise. Fans will also have the opportunity to explore parts of the stadium normally off limits to the public, including the home and visiting clubhouses. City Stadium tours will begin around noon.
During Fan Fest, the Tap Room will be open where fans can purchase beer and enjoy flat screen TVs. The Kids Zone will also be open and youth's attending Fan Fest will enjoy several inflatables set up on the concourse, as well as Southpaw shenanigans.
