The League, that gave us such notables as Robinson Cano (SI Yankees 2001-2002), Francisco Cervelli (SI Yankees 2006), Melky Cabrera (SI Yankees 2003), A.J. Burnett (2007), Ryan Howard (2001), Chase Utley (2000), Randy Johnson (1985), Don Mattingly (1979), John Elway (1982), Jorge Posada (1991), Dwight Gooden (1982), Andy Pettitte (1991), CC Sabathia (1999), Johan Santana (1997-1998) and Jim Rice (1971) to name a few, will once again show us the stars of tomorrow. The New York-Penn League is currently conducting an online voting contest to name the New York-Penn League All-Time Team. The team is expected to be revealed at the All-Star Game.

For a ticket price of $16, fans will be treated to one of the greatest family values in sports this year. Gates open at 3:00pm on Tuesday, August 17th to begin the day's events. For only $18 per ticket (in groups of 10 or more) fans can enjoy All-You-Can-Eat hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, soda, water and popcorn throughout the game.

"The Staten Island Yankees consistently provide affordable entertainment value to our fans and our hosting of the New York-Penn League All-Star Game promises to deliver one of the greatest sports and entertainment values ever for families in the metropolitan area," said Joseph Ricciutti, President of the Staten Island Yankees.

The best of the American League will take the field for batting practice followed by an autograph session. Next up, the best of the National League will take the field for batting practice and an autograph session where fans get their chance to meet the future stars of the MLB. Fans will then be treated to a Home Run Derby starting at 5:45pm and first pitch is at 7:00pm.

A limited edition Staten Island Yankees All-Star Game commemorative cap will be given away to all paid admissions and the 2009 New York Yankees World Series Trophy will be on display.

In addition to these pre-game activities, fans will be able to participate in three auctions. The first will involve the auctioning off of authentic New York Yankees signed memorabilia signed by such players as Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Mariano Rivera, CC Sabathia and many more. The second will see the All-Star jerseys auctioned right off the backs of the 2010 New York-Penn League All-Stars. The New York-Penn League Charitable Foundation will also auction off signed baseballs by former NYPL players currently in the major leagues. The NYPL All-Star Game and a post-game fireworks show complete the night's festivities.

The All-Star Game events begin with a VIP Meet and Greet Reception at the St. George Theatre on Monday, August 16th at 6:00pm. Seating is limited. Lucky fans in attendance will be the first to see the 2010 New York-Penn League All-Star Teams assembled together for the first time. Fans will enjoy cocktails and dinner, provided by Centerplate, and a short program introducing the players and coaching staff. The evening's festivities will conclude with a musical tribute (by the Unexpected Boys) to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons featuring such unforgettable hits as Sherry, Walk Like a Man, Oh, What a Night, Big Girls Don't Cry, and many more! For those in the family that might not be the biggest baseball fan in the world, there will be plenty to do and see at the All-Star Game. Mascot and fan favorite, Scooter, will be roaming the stadium with cohorts, Huck and Red, bringing smiles to kids of all ages. There is also the Staten Island Advance Fun Zone out by left field with Tee-Ball, Skee-Ball, Face Painting, Moon Bounce, Speed Pitches, and more to add to the fun. Just in case there may be a bit of energy left after all of that, kids can run the bases after the game, where Scooter will be there waiting to high-five them as they round third base.

About the Staten Island Yankees
The Staten Island Yankees have been a tough ticket to get these days. The 2010 season marks the 4th season of the "new" Staten Island Yankees. After several years of lagging attendance and popularity, the Staten Island Yankees were re-launched in fall 2006 under new ownership, Mandalay Sports Entertainment. The first season under new ownership and leadership saw an impressive leap from no sellouts in all the years played at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark to five sellouts in 2007. That grew to 17 sellouts in 2008 and a very impressive 26 in 2009. Much of that growth is attributed to the novel idea of providing great family entertainment and unsurpassed customer service at a great value. Don't wait to get your tickets. Keep in mind that the only way to get the All-You-Can-Eat is through a Pinstripe Plan or a group of 10 or more. The option is not available on single game tickets.
