Barons Announce Schedule and Game Times for 2013

Barons begin Regions Field Era with home opener on April 10th

The 2013 season will mark the beginning of a new era for the Birmingham Barons with the opening of Regions Field. The Barons will kick off the home slate with Opening Night on April 10th against the Mississippi Braves, Double-A Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Numerous events will highlight a weeklong celebration to commemorate the opening of Regions Field.

As in years past, the majority of games will begin at 7:05 p.m. with the exception being weekend and select weekday games. The Barons will continue to play their Saturday night games at 6:30 p.m. while all Sunday games will now be played at 3:00 p.m.

New for the 2013 season will be the addition of the "Business Person Special" for Monday home games during the first half of the season. Monday games in April, May and June will begin at 11:30 a.m. allowing fans the opportunity to catch an afternoon baseball matinee.

On Wednesday, May 29 the Birmingham Barons will host the Tennessee Smokies, Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, in the 18th Annual Rickwood Classic presented by State Farm Insurance. First pitch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Tickets to the event can be purchased online at Barons.com or over the phone by calling 205-988-3200.

In addition to the Rickwood Classic, three other Wednesday games will feature midday start times; April 24, May 15, and June 26 are all scheduled for first pitch at 11:00 a.m.

On Thursday, July 4, the Barons will celebrate Independence Day in Birmingham when the Barons take on the Mississippi Braves at 6:30 p.m. The season will conclude on Labor Day Monday, September 2, with a 12:30 p.m. intrastate contest against the Montgomery Biscuits, Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.
